Clinical Conversations of Obesity is a comprehensive, evidence-informed training program designed to help healthcare professionals navigate the complexities of weight-related discussions with their patients. By emphasizing empathy, patient-centered communication, and evidence-based practices, this course equips participants to support patients in achieving their health goals while addressing the challenges posed by stigma, bias, and other obesity specific barriers.

This course includes real-world case studies, lived experience insights, and interactive modules focused on refining communication techniques and applying frameworks like the 5As and motivational interviewing in clinical practice.

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the biological, psychological, and social factors influencing obesity, including the role of stigma and bias in shaping patient experiences and outcomes.
  • Recognize the importance of empathy and patient-centered communication in fostering trust and collaboration during weight-related discussions.
  • Demonstrate the use of the 5As framework and motivational interviewing to conduct respectful, structured, and effective conversations about weight management.
